At 01:50 or Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit team was notified of a accident on the N4 close to Solomon Mahlangu. A vehicle rolled after swerving for someone lying in the fast lane of the N4, it is suspected that the person was hit by a vehicle at a earlier time that then fled the scene.
Unfortunately on arrival of medics the pedestrian was found to have sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on scene. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries and declined to be transported to hospital.
SAPS was on scene to investigate the accident and try to piece together how the accident happened.
