Just after 2:30 this morning our Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit received a call for a person that had been shot during a house robbery.
1 male patient believed to be in his low 50s was shot in the chest when armed suspects broke into his house.
We found the patient in a critical condition and started working to stabilize him. After being joined by an advanced life support crew from Netcare911 the decision was made to fly the patient via medical helicopter to a specialist hospital in Johannesburg. The patient was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The scene was handed over to SAPS for the investigation.
We would like to thank everyone involved, stabilizing the patient and ensuring a safe road closure.
