Just after 22:00 our Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit team was informed about a house on fire in Lynwood Ridge area Pretoria east. On arrival our Chaplain worked with the home owner while our medic made sure everyone got out of the house and was uninjured.
Firefighters from City of Tshwane arrived and extinguished the fire.
We are happy to report no one was injured.
It is suspected that the fire started when a piece of wood fell out of the fireplace. We at VEMRU would please urge anyone with a indoor fireplace to take precautions that can stop this from happening and please keep a fire extinguisher in the house with easy access.
