Just before 10:00 our Volunteer Emergency Medical Response Unit team was alerted to a call where a child fell from the window of their 5th story flat. On arrival the child was found to have sustained critical injuries and our medic worked alongside other medical personnel to stabilize the child.
Due to the extent of his injuries the decision was made to airlift the patient to a specialist trauma hospital in Johannesburg.
Netcare911 helicopter came to transport the patient who was stabilised.
